This will be a very special concert within the upcoming Australian tour for both Dougie and his wife Jenny MacLean for many reasons...
Firstly, because the whole Colo River area in NSW is one of the most peaceful and beautiful parts of the country and a great place to escape to for a night or a weekend!
  
Secondly, because Ararat Lodge will make a lovely setting for a concert along the lines of The Clunie Concerts which Dougie and Jenny organise in a wee village hall not far from their home in Scotland. Ararat Lodge has a really welcoming feeling nestled as it is in the natural beauty of the Colo River Valley, in this untainted part of the Hawkesbury district. For those who fancy it there will be a delicious two-course meal available in the dining area of the lodge before the concert begins in the large lounge.
Lastly, and most importantly, it's very special because the concert is being organised by Jane McClaren, along with her parents Barbara and Peter McClaren in conjunction with Dougie and Jenny. Jane is Jenny's long-lost, but never forgotten, daughter. Adopted at birth when Jenny was only 19 (a few oceans away and several years before she met Dougie) Jane has been lovingly grown by Barbara and Peter and is now a beautiful and talented woman...and a great cook and organiser as well! Jane and Jenny spoke for the first time last December, met in May 08 at Colo River (along with Barbara, Peter and Jane's captivating daughter Freya) and all are looking forward to organising a Dougie concert together!
At a time when financial disaster and credit crunch seems to dominate our world we thought it a good thing to be able to share a small part of a story that is an indescribably happy one...

Opening for Dougie at The Colo Concert will be Frozen, who are fine musicians...and Jane's good friends! Frozen for this occasion are Kevin Adams (Acoustic Guitar and Vocals), Barbara Webb (Violin, Mandolin and Vocals), Blake Morrison (Guitar/Bass and Vocals) and Lynne Trappel (Viola and Percussion). Kevin and Barb (photo below) perform often as a duo but it will be wonderful to have the full line-up for this concert.
