|May and June hi-lights!|
Here's a few of the very varied concerts and appearances of late...
Dougie performed at this year's Burns an' a' That Festival in Ayr Town Hall, with Midge Ure and Capercaillie. Great crowd...fantastic singing! Here are some unusual wee photographs of Dougie from that night! Photos are from Paul Domanski Photography.
And in early June Dougie performed in a very special concert in Edinburgh's prestigious Usher Hall joining popular contemporary choirs InChorus and the Lothian Borders Police Choir to raise the rafters with a concert like no other! The packed hall enjoyed the passion and exuberance of these quality choirs who, like Dougie, know just how to communicate with an audience. Andrew Russell is the very talented musical director of both choirs. We are really looking forward to their joining Dougie again for a concert "Dougie MacLean with Strings and Choirs" during the Perthshire Amber Festival in Perth Concert Hall on Friday November 4th! (You can book tickets for it now...). Photos were taken by Dave Gow.
The following week Dougie got his hands on shinty’s most prestigious trophy at the quarter final draw for the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup. The draw was made by Dougie Maclean and Archie Robertson, President of the Camanachd Association, at the Edradour Distillery near Pitlochry, Scotland’s smallest distillery and home of Caledonia whisky.
