2014 off to a good start!

photowebThe year began at the atmospheric and historic Stirling Castle where as part of the Hogmanay celebrations a crowd of 5,000+ joined in with Dougie's powerful performance of "Caledonia" just before the bells!
Then a few weeks later the dramatic new venue the SSE Hydro was the scene for the Celtic Connections International Burns Concert where, within a programme full of wonderful musicians, Dougie with the RSNO performed stunning versions of Burns' songs "Ca' the Yowes" and "Heiland Harry" as well as Dougie's much loved "This Love Will Carry".

Two exciting projects that Dougie is working on at present

The first is the recording of a wonderful collection of his songs with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra to tie in with their performance together in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on June 6th. This to be released on Linn Records.

He is also writing a new work called "The Perthshire Cantata", commissioned by Perth Festival of the Arts, which will expand the much-loved "Perthshire Amber Suite" with wonderful songs and arrangements into a full evening of music. This will be premiered in Perth Concert Hall on  June 1st!
